Going for Gold

A gold bar dispensing ATM has been installed in the lobby of Abu Dhabi's five star Deluxe Emirates Palace hotel, which dispenses 25-carat one gram, five gram and ten gram pieces of gold. The aesthetics of the terminal are also far more luxurious than the average ATM as the exterior of the machine is fully gold plated.

While banks worldwide are looking at ways to generate additional ROI at the terminal through the provision of additional functionality, this ATM takes innovation to a whole new (and somewhat extravagant!) level. It just goes to show what the ATM can do, although this service is unlikely to be rolled out on to the high street any time soon!
